And the show must go on.......
Yesterday I received a comment from my good friend Maria about my “Because…….” post:
“I agree that we are told to do so but I also believe that we all have a choice. The consequences of our choice may not be favorable if we divert from what we are told to do and as a result may cause suffering both physically and mentally. The great demands instilled by today’s societies, governments, rulers, corporations, media, family, etc. have by far exceeded the simple demands of functioning as an organized and free society, as the Greeks once outlined. They certainly have corrupted and polluted our minds with unnecessary physical and materialistic obligations to generate wealth and evolution. So, where do we go from here? In order to be accepted in all forms of society do we need to submit ourselves to these demands? If we decide not to do this, can we survive physically, mentally and within society? Will society allow us to survive without our submission? Are we able to accept ourselves and accept suffering without thoughts of suicide or depression or having our emotions controlled by drugs? These and many, many more are questions we need to address not only with ourselves but with all our governing influences surrounding us that dictate all those things you listed in your blog, Carsten. In my eyes, we have become a weak civilization, submissive, gullible and cowardly. We have allowed ourselves to be told what to do, but remember WE ALWAYS HAVE A CHOICE!”
I agree with the first part but have some comments about the second part of what she said:
“So, where do we go from here? In order to be accepted in all forms of society do we need to submit ourselves to these demands? If we decide not to do this, can we survive physically, mentally and within society?”
The idea that I try to bring across is to be within society, within the world and not of it. When you free your mind from ideas and beliefs the “acceptance” idea has to go as well. When you are free you also do not take things serious any more. You can live within society, you can have a job, you can make money and you can buy things you like. I am not talking about rejecting society; I am talking about asking the question why do we do what we are doing? You can survive within society and have fun because you do not take life serious any more. Life was never meant to be serious because it is limited. I have no idea who came up with the idea that it is. We have a few years here and then we die. Whatever we have done, whoever we are all go the same way. Why take this life serious? In 90 years from now nobody who reads this will be alive and soon after most of us will be forgotten. After freeing our minds we also do not judge society. Every time we see somebody do an action mechanically we understand that this person just does what he or she is trained to do. We have great compassion because we know how it feels to be a robot since we all used to be one before we found freedom.

Society will love us. People, robots are always attracted to freedom. Everybody wants to be free, almost nobody is. To meet somebody who is free is always exciting and a little scary at the same time. They will not know that we are free because from the outside we look and do the same as everybody else. But there is something in our eyes, in the way we talk, a certain fearlessness that everybody wants to have and wants to surround him or herself with. We will have accepted that we are one with all things. It is not accepting ourselves it is accepting that we are something bigger then we thought to be. At that point there is also no depression because we accept all things how they are. We are not haunted by our past or afraid of the future. The governing influences are not of our concern. We can only free our own minds. After freeing our minds governing influences do not exist any more.

I don’t know if we are a weak civilization but we have stopped to ask important questions. Nobody asks the why question any more. All we think about is that the show must go on, to keep on doing the same things. But why? Why do we make certain decisions? Why do we have certain feelings? Why do we such a hard time to change?
These are unpleasant questions. Nobody wants to rock the boat nobody wants to be disturbed. But a lot of people suffer. How can we end suffering? We have to look at where it comes from, where it is routed and cut out the roots. We have to start asking questions. And yes they have told us what to do but now we are doing it ourselves.
And we do not have a choice! We are programmed to do things in a certain way. To have a choice we have to undo the programming. We have to look at where our belief or idea comes from, where it is routed. Then we have to have an experience that shows us that this belief or idea is false. After that we can let it go and move on to another illusion we want to work on. This is the way to find out who we really are and when we have transcended most of our set ideas then we have a choice.
