Today is my first day off in three weeks. I worked for 18 hours almost every day during this time. There was not even enough time for yoga, working out, kung fu or the blog. The funny thing about letting go is that as soon as we start doing it is very easy. The moment I stopped writing the blog on a daily basis it was easy to skip a more days since I had lost my attachment to it.

In the last couple of weeks I took on every job that came along. I shot a music video, children, a birthday party, assisted in Vermont and shot pianists perform at the Bosendorfer piano showroom. Taking on these jobs often made no sense financially but I stuck and still sticking to my new years resolution to only listen to my inner voice. Every time I accepted one of them it felt like it was the right thing to do. At the beginning of these jobs my mind started to doubt the validity of my decision but every time I met very nice people, had a good time and learned something new.

The amazing thing about being a photographer is to meet people and to go to places you would never get in contact with or see if you would have a different profession. Be it the birthday party on the Upper Eastside, children on a trampoline, amazing pianists at the Bosendorfer showroom, Vermont and West Marin. Would I have been exposed to all of that if I would do something else? I doubt it. :-)     "Variety" Manhattan/ New York City/ Upper East Side/ Karaoke at Birthday Party 05-17-08 at 11:25 PM
