I went to the Museum of Modern Art with my roommate Nieves on Friday to see an exhibition of Salvador Dali’s work. I always liked his paintings but did not know that he was a filmmaker as well.

It was an amazing and inspiring exhibition and very interesting to see it with Nieves since she is a painter and knows so much about the arts.

The “MOMA” is free on Friday afternoons. The line of people trying to get in was wrapping around a whole city block. It was an amazing sight.

To me it showed how much artists move and inspire people. Thousands from all walks of life made the effort to stand in line to be able to look at art.

But who creates? The artist? To me art is not created by a person. All we can do is to open ourselves up to creativity. We create through our work but can’t take credit for the outcome. All we can take credit for is how open we are.

Obviously Salvador Dali was very open. He was probably one of the most creative people ever. Looking at his paintings and films I was wondering how in the world he was able to come up such things? Then I realized that he never came up with anything. All he did was being open to the creative force and expressing it.
