A Hundred Years From Today

Isn’t it funny how serious we are about life, how hard we work to better ourselves and how stressed out we are. We try to control the uncontrollable, worry that our dreams might not come true and constantly compare ourselves with others.

I am a prime example for all of the above. But how can something limited be serious?

Fact is none of us will get out of this experience alive. In a hundred years from today everybody who is reading this post will have moved on.

Don't save your kisses, just pass them around

You'll find my reason is logically sound

Who's gonna know that you passed them around

A hundred years from today

What sense does it make to go crazy about what we have and what we have achieved? How about letting go of the need of having to do anything?

Why crave a penthouse that's fit for a queen

You're nearer heaven on Mother Earth's green

If you had millions, what would they all mean

A hundred years from today

America has deep economical trouble. It is so bad that even President Bush got up to give a speech on television. What caused all this? Greed. People making more money that they can spend in a lifetime.

So laugh and sing, make love the thing

Be happy while you may

There's always one, beneath the sun

Who's bound to make you feel that way

When will we understand to enjoy life, stop to worry and are not as serious any more? What is the worst that can happen? We will die. I hate to be the bringer of bad news but all of us will die anyway.

The moon is shinin' and that's a good sign

Cling to me closer say you'll be mine

Remember darlin', we won't see it shine

A hundred years from today

A hundred years from today

When will we get out of our minds into our hearts and enjoy the time that is given to us without worrying about the future and regretting the past? Is the reason why modern society is so afraid of death that we have never learned to live?

The moon is shinin' and that's a good sign

Cling to me closer say you'll be mine

Remember darlin', we won't see it shine

A hundred years from today

A hundred years from today

(Lyrics to “A Hundred Years From Today” by Jack Teagarden)

What will be left besides the love and joy we experience a hundred years from today?
