One Door Closes........
The tricky thing with an open door is that it is time sensitive. Every open door will close at a certain point if we decide to walked through it or not. As mentioned before this is terrifying either way.
If we decide not to walk through the door and it closes we might ask ourselves for the rest of our lives what would have been on the other side, what would have happened if we would have walked through it.
After taking the chance to enter the unknown the door will close as well but this time behind us. We will have changed, altered our experience and not be able to go back to the person and the life we lived before.
I had many open doors that I did not walk through and others I took the chance with. The biggest one was to leave Germany and move to New York City, something I’m pretty sure I could do today any more.
But then there are so many doors that I missed out on. When I’m talking about an open door I’m not talking about taking every opportunity that opens up but the ones that feel right. Let’s say you see somebody and you inner voice tells you to talk to him or her and you don’t.
That reminds me on the day I ran into Christy Turlington one of the top models of the 80’s and 90’s. I saw her in a juice bar in New York City about 10 years ago. I always had a weakness for female beauty. I was too shy to say something g but promised myself that I would talk to her if I ever would see her again. I saw her the next day at the same place but again my high level of insecurity back then did not allow me to say anything.
I don’t know what would have happened would I have talked to her but I will have to ask myself for the rest of my life what would have happened if I would have done so.
