Yesterday I talked to another roommate of mine. Lester Rapaport is a painter of abstract spiritual art. Please check out his website here.His take on the purpose of life as an artist is very interesting. He says that as an artist you have to be part of the cultural imagination. He talks about children having this very very active phantasy life and that artists keep on living in that world that we usually leave behind when become adults.To him the purpose of an artist is to keep that phantasy world alive and share it with the people who are longing for it.
